The boMbarDier beetle

Don’t mess with this beetle! If it thinks it’s in danger, this little beetle will quickly swivel its rear end towards you and shoot
out a deadly spray – an explosive mixture of hot, revolting-smelling liquid and gasthat can badly burn your skin.

hoW Does it Do it?
The beetle’s body contains two tiny tanks, each filled with a different chemical. When danger threatens, the beetle squeezes these two chemicals into another chamber, where they
combine and cause a chemical reaction that makes heat and gas. The pressure from the gas makes the mixture shoot out of the beetle’s behind. Who fears the sPray? Bombardier beetles aren’t really very dangerous to humans, though an attack can hurt and make your skin blister. But their ferocious spurt of
chemicals can seriously injure or even kill small hunting animals, such as spiders or frogs, which prey on beetles.
